Jimmy Smits plays the owner of a small taxicab company, who's worked hard to send his daughter Nina, played by Leslie Grace to Stanford - his dream, not hers - and Nina has returned home to tell him that she does not belong there and wants to drop out. She reconnects with Benny, Corey Hawkins, a taxicab dispatcher who dreams of Nina, his song, "Benny's Dispatch," was one of the highlights of the film for me.
