The Fifth Floor Film Festival is a multicultural, multigenre film festival created for graduating filmmakers to highlight their talent and hard work. The festival looks to bring together students, staff, and industry professionals in celebration, promotion, and appreciation for the next generation of filmmakers and content creators.
Dan Hunt, MFA, and Associate Professor of Communication and Media Arts, Erin Greenwell, MFA, normally organize the festival, but this year the two offered the role to any willing student as a replacement for making a student film. Cerqua, President of the College’s TV Studio Club, took up the challenge with the goal of making a festival “special for everyone after such a rough final year.”
The event is the Capstone project for student Nicholas Cerqua ’21, a graduating senior. Watch the Fifth Floor Film Festival here on Saturday, May 22 at 5 p.m., and stay tuned at 8 p.m. for a Q&A with the filmmakers!
