Akshay Kumar has acknowledged his responsibility for the failure of his recent films at the box office, stating that when his consecutive films do not work, it is time for him to reflect, dismantle himself, and make changes.
He clarified that this is not a new experience for him and that he has had similar phases in his career before.
Akshay further admitted that it is his fault when his films do not succeed, and that blaming the audience or anyone else is not appropriate.
He emphasized the need to evolve with changing audience preferences and provide the right ingredients in the film.
Akshay's last successful film at the box office was Sooryavanshi, released in 2021, which was the fourth installment in Rohit Shetty's 'cop universe' and co-starred Katrina Kaif. However, all his films released since 2022 have failed to achieve significant numbers.
Despite BellBottom being the first major film to release in theaters post-pandemic, and Sooryavanshi being the first Hindi box office hit post-pandemic, his subsequent releases like Raksha Bandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, and the recent Selfiee failed to make an impressive impact at the box office.
